邀請函的基本內容應包括以下四點：

1、留學身份---需要在邀請函中明確指出留學的身份。

2、起訖時間和留學期限---需要在邀請函中寫明留學時間為從xxxx年x月到xxxx年x月，共x月。

3、學費/費用情況---説明學費、費用的支付情況。

4、説明留學/訪問的目的及留學的專業

以上四項是一份完整的邀請函需要具備的四項基本內容，具體地，請同學們一定要仔細地查詢“中國留學網” 中各個國家辦理簽證及其他公派留學相關手續時對邀請函的具體要求，不符合有關要求的，辦理簽證時外國使館將不接受受理。

2.邀請函內容：1）首行居中標明邀請函字樣.2）雖然邀請函是發給個人的，但最終是要交給簽證官查閲的，所以，在首行稱謂上最好寫尊敬的先生們/女士們：3）正文內容大致包含以下幾點：邀請方詳細信息.包括：邀請人姓名，有效證件號（如身份證號或護照號等），公司或個人的詳細地址，電話，傳真.被邀請人詳細信息.具體要求同上.此次邀請的理由.邀請的具體時間段（從某年某月某日起，至某年某月某日止）.個別國家還要求提供邀請期內的具體行程.被邀請人在旅行期間的費用承擔.需要在邀請函中明確註明：此次旅行期間的所有費用，包括各項旅行費用和旅行期間的保險費用，由誰承擔.如是邀請方承擔的話，則需要在提交簽證材料的時候一併提供可以證明的相關書面材料。

我的建議： 如果你是英國的留學生，你首先需要把你的錄取通知書，賬單和繳費證明原件出示， 如果已經接近畢業並且原件已經遺失，有複印件也可以.然後就是去你學校那裏開一份在學證明兼邀請函.你看看你的邀請函裏有沒有包括你夫人的姓名，護照號碼，出生年月日，到達和離開時間等內容，比較重要.其實您本人寫邀請函的重要性不大， 主要是看學校那邊的邀請函.您可以在簽證表格上清楚寫明資料，並注意在提交的資料裏面要包括：結婚證書（證明關係）， 房產證（證明國內有固定的資產），妻子的工作證明（證明國內有固定工作-請注意，在妻子的工作證明裏面也要提到工作單位瞭解員工準備出國探親，時間段，並證明她回國後會 繼續在單位工作） 您妻子在英國期間的住宿地點，如果是賓館的話要BOOK HOTEL然後提供HOTEL的地址和電話， FLIGHT DETAILS。
